When guests come to my house for a visit, we usually enjoy a glass (or two) of wine. But instead, this time, I chose to make a variety of naturally infused water. I put together four different combinations using vegetable, fruits and herbs. The waters taste super fresh and are easy to prepare, making them perfect for a sunny day. They keep for about three days, but I guarantee you will finish them before their time is up.
Select your favourite fruits, veggies & herbs.
Next, put together your desired combinations.
My four combinations were:
cucumber, lime, mint
raspberry , lemon, orange
strawberry, basil, lemon
lemon, lime, orange
Gently muddle to release flavour.
Add ice-cold water.
Serve and Enjoy.
I love sushi. I mean, who doesn’t? And I will give any excuse to have it, but sometimes it can be hard to find fresh sashimi and well prepared rolls. I have my favourite sushi restaurant (here) and I like to stick with it, but recently I found another I can add my list. Sushi Bella is a Japenesse/French fusion restaurant, offering unique rolls and fresh sashimi. Dishes are beautifully prepared, feeding both your eyes and stomach. There are three very popular locations around the city so you can enjoy it wherever you may be. I’m addition to the three restaurants, Chef Kabel of Sushi Bella has opened his forth, Blue Bella Seafood & Oyster, located on Robson street. If its a nearly as good as Sushi Bella, you are in for a treat.

Last week my family and I made a trip down to Seattle for a few days to watch the Blue Jays vs Mariners game, for my Dads birthday. The days spent in the city were filled with shopping, exploring Pioneer Square, Pike Place, used book stores and of course good food! During our stay, I made reservations at Toulouse Petit, a French restaurant located in the Lower Queen Ann District. The atmosphere is inviting and warm with candles lite in rows along the walls. Musicians glide table to table playing beautiful music both soft and upbeat. The menu is mouthwatering, although the selection can be a little overwhelming, it is also very impressive, dishes are fresh, rich, savoury and spicy. It was hard for me to pick a favourite since I honestly loved every bite. Next time I’m in Seattle I will be making sure I visit here again.

Food Trucks are becoming more popular everyday and can be found almost anywhere there is a large crowd. And right now, my favourite place to stop for lunch is The Locavore Food Truck, Located in Squamish, BC at On The Farm Country Market. They have a great selection of sandwiches, sides and salads, all fresh, local and within a 100 mile radius. The food is made from scratch and comes from Glacier Valley Farm (only 20km from the truck) and other local producers. My boyfriend and I bike over to Locavore every other weekend for an awesome lunch, sit at the picnic tables, than after check out all the shops located On the Farm. Stop by for lunch or dinner, you will be happy you did!

The past few days I’ve been visiting Victoria, B.C. The weather has been amazing so most of our time has been spent outside around the city. Yesterday, after walking around downtown my boyfriend and I went through Bastion Square Market when we saw ReBar right smack in the middle. For a few years now I’ve been dying to visit ever since I found out the cookbook I purchased a few years back was actually a real place! But since Rebar is located in Victoria it’s not that easy for me to do, so there was no way I was gonna pass up the opportunity
to have lunch there. It was hard to choose what to order cause everything looked so good, but somehow I made up my mind! The food we loved and the fresh pressed juice, I swear gave me super powers. But regardless of what the juice did or did not do, we enjoyed every last bite. And from all the “oohs” and “ahhs” from the adjacent tables, I’d say everyone else did too.

My love for wine started because of my dad. He has bottled his own wine ever since I can remember. And lucky me, sometimes he shares. My love for it has become a passion of mine, trying new wine and understanding the different ways to produce a perfect vino.
So fortunately, I just returned from an impromptu road trip to B.C wine country. With very little organization and last-minute planning, a few friends and I headed straight for the Okanagan to Osoyoos B.C. During our stay we visited eleven wineries in three days – too much? I was able to taste over 40 different wines and now have a lot of new favourites. I enjoyed food and wine pairing at two amazing wineries and took in the beautiful scenery. After this trip I left with great memories and of course bottles of wine.

Over the long weekend I celebrated Canada Day, enjoying street food and live entertainment with friends. I also celebrated my 25th birthday. Every year my friends and I ask each other three things: our pit, peak and what things we want to accomplish in the year too come. This past year has been very good too me. I was given the opportunity to travel 7 different countries, begin a new job and start my blog that I’m having so much fun with. I’ve had so many “peaks” this year that whatever pits I have gone through I can’t remember them. I look forward to the next year and what new opportunities come my way.
