This past weekend I was invited to stay at my friends cabin. Her cabin is across the water from Gibsons, so after a late night of bbqing, laughing and wine the next day we decided to cruise the boat over for lunch at Smitty’s Oyster House. In hopes of catching the next ferry on time, we were able to order on the rush with no problem at all. We enjoyed group seating at a beautiful long wooden table, sharing lunch and drinks with others enjoying their saturday afternoon. Naturally I ordered raw oysters. The kitchen, bar and oyster shucker are visible to everyone, so I was happy to watch while my oysters and lunch were being prepared. The food came fairly quickly, and was really good. The Halibut Fitters melted in your mouth like butter, they were delicious. I was really impressed with the food and the atmosphere was fun and inviting. I don’t get to visit the Gibsons area often enough, but when I do, Smitty’s will now be a stop I’ll have to make.
